Melianthus major - Honeybush or Peanut Butter plant!

An architectural evergreen shrub from South Africa - grown for its handsome glaucous leaves.

Small tubular maroon flowers in erect racemes in spring and summer. 

All parts of the plant are poisonous.

Height x Spread - 1.5-2.5m x 1.5-2.5m after 5-10 years 

Hardiness H3 - Hardy in coastal and relatively mild areas of the UK (-5-1c)
