Paulownia tomentosa - Foxglove Tree

Often referred to as the Foxglove Tree or Empress Tree, Paulownia tomentosa is a stunning medium sized tree that is ideal for adding colour and character to smaller spaces. Producing remarkable gigantic heart-shaped green leaves from 20-30cm long; fragrant pink-lilac flowers appear before the leaves on the bare stems from April through to May. A hardy and fast-growing variety, they can be grown within sunny or partially shaded areas of the garden in fertile soil where they will reach an eventual height is between 4-5 metres.
